Thanks for booking!

Please note our policy requires 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment.

For missed appointments or cancellations made within 24 hours from January 1-September 30, we will be charging the FULL FEE if we are unable to fill the spot. For missed appointments or cancellations made within 48 hours from October 1-December 31, we will be charging the FULL FEE if we are unable to fill the spot.

We also bill a 50% compassion fee for missed appointments due to illness, emergency and any situation that results in a cancelation within the the late cancellation window. We deeply care about our patients, but the volume of illness related cancelations we receive makes it impossible to keep our practitioners schedules full. We know you respect what we do, and we value you, so charging this fee shows respect to both parties. Note that if you have a friend of family member that would love to take your place, we will not charge a fee.

Often times we are unable to fill last minute cancellations. After a devastating few years of navigating the financial hardships of the pandemic, we are asking that our communities support out practitioners by valuing their livelihoods.

Also note that effective April 2024, we have relaxed our masking policy. 1. You are always welcome to wear a mask. We have some available for you if you like. 2. You MUST wear a mask within 5 days after plane travel, or if you are experiencing any lingering symptoms of illness or allergy. 3. Masking might be requested by your practitioner for various reasons (symptoms, compromised immunity, etc.). Please wear a mask if they request.

Thank you for keeping us all healthy and supporting our small business.

Sessions can be strictly refloxology (typically hands and feet) or can be a combination of massage and reflexology. Let you your practitioner know your needs during the assessment part of your session.

Reflexology is an ancient treatment dating back to 2500 BC, Egypt. It is based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet and hands that relate to every organ, gland and part of the entire body.

Treatments promote good circulation, digestion, release of tension and overall relaxation of the body, mind and spirit.

Is a Japanese 'finger pressure' healing therapy rooted in ancient Chinese medicinal practices.

Oriental medicine describes the body in terms of energy or 'Ki'. Ki is the vital energy of life. It's believed that symptoms of poor health appear when we do not have enough Ki or that it is not flowing smoothly.

The goal of shiastu is to restore harmony and balance to the client by calming the overactive nervous system and stimulating the body's own natural healing powers to gain vitality and strength.

Shiatsu promotes the healing restful state of the parasympathetic nervous system: improving sleep, mood, digestion, release of muscle tension, and circulation.

Treatment is performed by an RMT.

Reiki

Performed by an RMT, Reiki, is a form of alternative medicine also called energy healing. It is a very light to no touch energy work where the
practitioner uses their palms and “universal energy” to encourage and promote emotional and physical healing.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a client-centred discipline that is based on understanding the relationship between structure and function in order to enhance the body’s inherent ability to heal. It relies on skilled manual therapeutic techniques to assess and treat the client, guiding the natural self-healing properties of the human body.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle technique that has been proven to assist with lymph flow and drainage of various tissues and lymph pathways in the body. The main goal is to encourage better lymph flow and clearance in order to prevent stagnation and support immune response via the lymphatic system.

No oil is used in this type of massage and the pressure is very light (Note: this is different from Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, which is a different style of treatment). The skin is alternatingly stretched and released, creating a pump-like effect that encourages lymph flow and clearance.

The rhythmic nature of movements also encourages relaxation through a calming effect on the nervous system and can have a generally pain-reducing effect.

MLD is often used for various types of swelling including lymphedema, a condition of lymphatic dysfunction for which CDT (combined decongestive therapy) - a combination of MLD and bandaging - is the golden standard. MLD is often used for many types of post-surgical swelling (top surgery, mastectomies, plastic surgeries, hip and knee replacements, and more) as well as swelling from acute injuries such as sprains and strains.

It can be helpful for a variety of conditions including anxiety, bloating, acne, long COVID, osteoarthritis, whiplash, concussion syndromes, stress migraines, contusions/bruising and more. A pre-screening is required prior to your first MLD session to assess for any contraindications to this treatment.

Emily also has a special interest and years of experience in treating women in many states of health and stages of life. Emily also loves to provide Hara treatment (abdominal massage) upon request. Sue Kirkpatrick RMT, DOMP has been working in the hands-on healing field for decades, accumulating extensive knowledge and experience in many areas of manual care.

Sue invites you to contact her directly to inquire about treatment styles or to book if you don’t see a spot in her calendar that works for you: suek1a@sympatico.ca or 416-537-8002

Sue started her studies and career in Swedish Massage & Hydrotherapy in the late 1970s, continuing her studies in Shiatsu, Acupressure & Jin-Shin-Do, Polarity Therapy, Thai Yoga Massage & Thai Heat Therapy in the decades that followed. After using these modalities for many years, practising as a more traditional Registered Massage Therapist, Sue began her study of Craniosacral Therapy. She trained in styles popularised by Dr. John Upledger D.O. in the early 1990s, which eventually inspired her to enroll in the Canadian College of Osteopathy’s extensive training program of Traditional Manual Osteopathy where she graduated in 2008.

She holds a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) as well as her RMT certification, which allows her patients to choose their preferred style of body work. Her osteopathic philosophy combines myofascial release techniques and energetic techniques to gently unwind and release old body patterns and habits. Her massage style is flowing and rhythmic, with a more moderate approach to alleviating tension. Her approach to “deeper work” in both disciplines isn’t with a focus on “heavy” pressure, but through a series of more gentle to moderate techniques that allow the body to soften itself. The goal is to alleviate pain, not cause more!

Whether you book in with Sue for her Osteopathic approach or a RMT treatment, she can help you achieve a wonderful state of deep healing relaxation, assist you in coping with your daily stress levels, as well as relieve you of deep chronic muscular tension and pain.

Treatments with Sue draw on a wide base of experience in all her fields of study, and can combine the use of many varied modalities, having a fantastic neurological effect which can be both relaxing and energizing, while addressing muskulo-skeletal concerns.

With a background in both T‘ai Chi and Yoga, Sue is also a Pilates instructor with a focus on Traditional Pilates Mat Work, which means she brings a great catalogue of stretching and strengthening exercises to help you along in your healing process.
